An organised social activity in which people seeking connections have a series of short conversations with potential partners in order to determine whether there is mutual interest. Speed dating is coordinated within a limited time period of direct conversation with the aim of determining compatibility.

You register for an upcoming event HERE by providing details such as name, contact and dating preferences. Please note that this information is purely for our internal purposes and does not necessarily influence the actual event.

You will then get an email explaining how speed dating works and how you can RSVP.

After registering, you will then receive an email explaining how speed dating works and how you can RSVP. You can RSVP any time before the event, however, we have limited slots of 10 so there is a risk that all slots will be taken by the time we get to the day of the event. The booking fee includes a specific welcome drink determined by the relevant sponsor. We encourage people to RSVP as soon as possible so that we can manage ratios of male to female. 

ONLY MAKE PAYMENT AFTER YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED THE ONLINE RSVP PROCESS.

We have 10 ladies and 10 gents. Each of them gets a number badge from 1 to 10 and they wear it on their chest or any other visible area of their choice. They are each given score cards that they also write that same badge number on. The ladies are initially seated at 10 tables with one lady at each table.

The gents then come in, and one gent sits at a table with one lady. They then begin a speed date that lasts 4 minutes. After every 4 minutes, the gents move to the next table. This continues until every person has been on a date with every other person that would have attended, granted they arrived on time.

During these dates, attendees write on their score card, the badge number of the people they may have liked. At the end of the night, we take all of these scorecards and match the people that would have liked each other.

On the next day, we let everyone know who their matches were and provide them their contact details, they can take it from there

Please note that this is an event for those 30 years and above. There is no upper age limit nor is this information used to group patrons by age. All attending patrons will meet each other regardless of age.

Please note that information about the race of the patron is gathered purely for Match N Catch’s understanding of our patrons. Race (or any other factor outside of the required minimum age) is not a determining factor when organising events. Match N Catch is an event geared towards meeting new people and NOT a matchmaking, dating coach service or dating service.

1. First thing, Don’t overthink it, Don’t be nervous! You’re just talking to people just like yourself!
2. Dress for success – a clean outfit and a well-groomed presence matter most.
3. You don’t have to dress up, wear your finest jewellery and most expensive clothing, you are there to meet someone realistic.
4. First Impressions count – When you first meet your date, take a moment to look them in the eyes, say hello, and be sure to give them your undivided attention.
5. Don’t be embarrassed. Everyone is there for the same reason as you—to meet new people.
6. Make sure that both you and the other person get to talk during each speed dating segment. Don’t let one person monopolise the conversation.
7. If you have any “deal breaker” issues, work them into your conversations as simple questions. For example, do you smoke? Do you have children?
8. Spending a few seconds asking these kind of questions will allow you to make a much more informed decision about whom you wish to keep talking to at the end of the evening.
9. Avoid exchanging personal contacts at the event, we will do that for you based on your scorecard feedback
10. Unlike having dinner or going to the movies, silence isn’t acceptable when you’re on a speed date. You’re there to get to know people quickly, so come prepared to talk about yourself and ask questions.

What’s the Biggest Mistake You could make as an Attendee?

1. Pre-judging people before speaking/interacting with them.
2. Remember that if someone meets 80% of your dating criteria without triggering any major deal breakers, you should give that person a second look.
3. Thinking you have to be agreeable with everyone you meet, remember we are all independent adults, there are no obligations at all.
4. Know your limits! Don’t overdo it on the liquor; your conversation needs to remain Coherent :).
